Abstract
Ivor Gurney's copy of 'War's Embers', published by Sidgwick and Jackson in May 1919. The inside cover is inscribed 'April 1925 / Ivor Gurney's markings'.
Gurney notes that 'Upstairs Piano', which he has amended in pen in the margins, was 'Best poem on music'.
The copy has pen annotations in Gurney's hand indicating where each poem was written. Gurney has amended 'Upstairs Piano', in pen in the margins, and at the end he writes, 'Best poem on music'. He notes that 'Hidden Tales' was written in Hertford.
