Joins the 2nd Manchester Regiment at Halloy, nr Beaumont Hamel, on the Somme. Describes the journey from Folkestone, to Calais, and then to camp. Talks about the wet conditions, the destruction of Halloy, censoring letters, and problems of getting equipment. This is letter no. 476 in Ed. 'Wilfred Owen Collected Letters'.
