Abstract
Diary of Benjamin Lloyd of the Royal Artillery, covering the whole war period, beginning in June 1914 and ending in March 1919, and including the Battle of the Somme. The diary details military movement and activities, engagement with the enemy, Christmas celebrations, coming home on leave, the end of the war, etc. It may possibly have been copied out from the originals after the war. Benjamin Lloyd was gassed during the war, but survived and later went on to serve in the Second World War as RMQS. The diary was deposited by his daughter.
