Photograph sent as a postcard by Reg Cole to his cousin Charles W. Carr. Both served with the Gloucestershire Regiment (in this postcard Reg (service no. 1844) writes from C Company (1/)5th Glos. to Charles in C Company 2/5th, at Northampton). The message explains that when Reg and his company move on Charles will soon be coming to Chelmsford. Reg is standing on left in this photograph.
Private 1844 Reginald William Cole, 'C' Coy., 5th Bn. Gloucestershire Regiment, died 12th May 1915, aged 22. The son of Abraham Noden Cole and Minnie Rosetta Cole, of 12, Clarence Square, Cheltenham. Born at Skenfrith, he is buried in Ploegsteert Wood Military Cemetery.
